According to the order of the empress Yekaterina the Second Glazov town was founded on the left side of the river Cheptsa on Vyatka. Since the moment of its foundation Glazov was famous for its distilling production that originated from the first Russian distillery mentioned in the famous Vyatskaya Chronicle. Thus the land near Vyatka according to the modern historical data is a progenitress of industrial production of vodkas in Russia. In 1900 on this traditional area the modern (for those times) Distillery "Glazovsky" was founded.
In 1928 the factory known as Glazovsky distillery #20 started production of bread wine.
In 1928-1929 the output in natural expression was about 142.7 thousand deciliters. The production was
concentrated in the three main departments: glassware department, bottling department and dish-washing department.
At the Glazovsky distillery were organized pace-makers’ brigades, the work competition let them to increase
the volume of gross output of bread and table wine, wheat vodka and highly purified vodka.
In 1932 – 39 people worked at the factory: 4 engineers, 20 workers and 15 non-manual workers.
To the end of 1939 thirty three workers had got the honorary title “Stakhanovite”.
In 1940 the factory started the production of “Zubrovka”, “Pomeranzevaya”, “Yeropheich”, “Gorny dubnyak”, “Zveroboy” and “Angliyskaya gorkaya”. 113 people worked at the factory. Some of them finished Labor Evening School or Courses for Raising the Level of Labor Skills in Moscow, Kiev and other cities.
In 1995 the Distillery “Glazovsky” was rewarded with Gold Medal and Memorable Plate for “Effective actions
during economic crisis, high inflation and setback in production” at the international forum “Birmingham Torch Award”.
In October 1999 the Distillery “Glazovsky” in Balezino was established.
In autumn 2005 the distillery “Glazovsky” successfully passed stansdartization in accordance with State Standards
ISO 9001-2001. Thus all the production starting
with simple adapter and finishing with the most complicated systems for water purification satisfies the world
quality standards. It means that factory’s production satisfies the requirements of International Standard Organization
(ISO). These requirements are obligatory in more than 90 countries and the production that meets the ISO requirements
is considered to be the most competitive in the world market.
